episode 92: mixed emotions "...I am flame, flame is light, I am flame, flame is light, I am flame, flame is light..." Raye chants to the sacred flame. The vision of the Soldiers' and the world's destruction appears in her mind again, and she gasps. "I am flame, flame is light."...Chad stands outside, watching Raye, when he turns around to see a horrible face! "Hey Chad!" It's Raye's grandfather *sweat drop*. "Were you watching Raye?" he says intisingly. Chad stammers, "Well...I care about her, is all." Grandpa laughs, "I do too, that's why I'm here! But don't bother trying to get her out of the trance. When she's focused you can't stop her." But Chad goes into the room... "say Raye, you want some midnight tea?" "I am flame, flame is light." Chad, frustrated, goes on, "You probably want some real food!" Coming in with tons of food, he starts out, like in a commerical, "TODAY, we have this delicious instant food, this meat with broccoli bits, and of COURSE instant artificial Japanese sushi!" But no response. Suddenly, Raye starts the integral part of the chant, and the flame begins to rise! Chad puts his belt beside her, "Use this to tie up your hair so it doesn't burn." And NOW, Raye looks up. "Oh Chad, are you here? I didn't really see! I'm sorry. Thanks for the belt." Chad walks away, thinking what a nothing he is... "Ahh, my lovely. I hope you'll do a better job than your predecessor," Tomoe says to the newest Daimon egg. "Dr. Tomoe," starts Kaori, "trust me, the next one WILL have a pure heart." Tomoe laughs manically about the destruction of the world... Raye walks downtown, sadly...as Chad watches her from the telephone pole. "Hi, CHAD, are you WORRIED about Raye or something?" Serena suddenly jolts him from behind. "AH, Serena! Well...Raye's not been sleeping well. She's been up chanting all night!" "Well, I know what you're REALLY worried about..." "You are?" Chad shouts. "Of COURSE," says Serena, "I'm a girl! You like her, right?" "Well..." "The Guide to Getting your Dreamboat of Your Dreams step 1: don't let her catch on!" "Hey!" Chad cries, "Where can I get that book? I need to read EVERY PAGE!" "Oh, silly, it's not a guy's thing..." meanwhile, Kaori Night rides on top of a train. "Public transportation is great," she says to herself, "because it reduces the smog - plus it makes it easy to find a pure heart!" Her daimon egg merges into the train. She jumps off, laughing, "It's so easy - the next pure heart on this train is mine!..." Chad walks downtown, happily. To his surprise, he sees Raye chatting (flirting?) with the masculine Amara! "What's she got that I don't?" They continue to talk, and then Amara offers Raye a ride home on her bike! "Cool!" Raye sites on the back, and ties her hair back with the belt. "What's that, a belt from your temple?" wonders Amara. "Yeah, but it was given to me by someone special. Now it's my favorite ribbon!" She puts a helmet on and they drive away..."well, besides a cool bike," murmurs Chad to himself... the vision return to Raye, her eyes paralyzed in terror...Raye wakes up to the other's wondering. "Not getting enough sleep Raye?" asks Mina. "No, I guess not...I need to wash up, OK?" Raye leaves the room. "Whoever knows what Raye's problem is, raise her hands!" Serena gawks, raising her hand. "You know what's wrong?" "Of course!" Lita wonders...outside, Raye walks, pondering the situation, when Lita runs into her. "If something's wrong, please tell me. I'll try to help," she says seriously. "Is is a bad vision? Or just guy trouble?" Raye starts, "A little of both. I've been having this growing vision, and I'm not sure about Chad..." Lita comforts her and tells her that Serena shouldn't know!... Chad does his daily jogging downtown, but can't think of anything buy Rei...he stops to get a drink at the fountain, but only screams at his losing Raye! Suddenly, he hears the beautiful violin music of one Michelle, who plays under the full moon...when Amara comes to her! "It's HER!" Chad thinks..."I'm worried," says Amara, "for we haven't found any pure heart crystals. I'm afraid to sleep, for we might loose one..." "I understand your feelings. But we must go on," adds Michelle. "The Silence is coming."... "She's sneaking around on Raye!" cries Chad in despair! "I WON'T let that happen!... a rainy afternoon. Amara holds an umbrella while Chad confronts her in the rain. The lightning strikes behind him as he condemns Amara. "This is pointless!" says Amara, but Chad just charges at her - and she dodges, him falling in the mud. "I WON'T let you be with her!" "That's stupid," says Amara, "I"m Raye's friend!" Another charge, another miss by Chad. "CHAD!" the arriving Raye cries out, and Chad falls again into the mud. "How could you try to hurt Amara?" To Amara, she asks if she's OK. Chad gets up and begins to walk towards them... "I know that I've lost you Raye. Amara, look, if you've gotten a place in Raye's golden heart, you are the best person in the world. And if you ever loose it, you will be doomed for eternity." Raye tears up at his beautiful words...he leaves, leaving his jacket behind... at the temple, Chad says his final farewells to Grandpa. "The time has come for me to go..." the girls, besides Raye, try to convience him to stay, but he refuses...a beautiful Japanese(!) song plays in the background as Chad walks off into the sunset...and he passes Raye. even so, he walks right by, towards the train station... "I can't believe he's leaving!" says Raye. Serena comes up to her, "But won't you miss him?" "NO!...but Grandpa loves him here, and the temple's been fun since he's been here..." Raye begins to tear. "You love him, don't you?" She nods. "Then go after him! He feels the same way," says Serena, and Raye begins to run...Chad has reached the train station. He touches it ready to leave... when it suddenly transforms into a daimon! "CHOO CHOO!" it screams as Kaori appears behing Chad. The black ray shoots out, revealing his pure heart..."MARS STAR POWER!" Raye transforms into Sailor Mars! She makes a speech, but Kaori just takes the pure heart, and the daimon just wraps Mars up in some train track! Helpless, she can only watch..."VENUS LOVE CHAIN ENCIRCLE!" Venus' chain releases Mars and gets the crystal to Mercury! The Sailor Soldiers have arrived! UNfortunately, the daimon soon has them tied up in some electric train track! "Sparkling Wide PRESSURE!" But teh blast is just reflected back by the daimon! She lays down track on top of the Soldiers... but Mars fights back using her "Evil Spirts, Be Gone!". Now immobile, Moon does her thing - "MOON SPIRAL HEART ATTACK!" The daimon is destroyed, and Mars returns Chad's precious pure heart...in the distance stand Sailors Neptune and Uranus. "That wasn't a pure heart crystal after all," remarks Uranus. "Guess we keep looking!" says Neptune, and they jump off... Chad wakes up, worried. "Where's the monster?" "You were hit in the head, Chad!" says Raye, who wraps his arm in the belt. "And you know, there IS someone I like, someone here, but he's afraid to find out." "Why don't you just TELL him?" Chad cries out. "I might..." The two walk together, finally, into the sunset... so Chad's pure heart was saved! But who will be the next target?...
