episode 90: damp spirits "Amy, you forgot this in the classroom," says a teacher (presumably) to Amy. "Oh...I'm sorry. Thank you." she bows. The teacher continues, "Amy, I feel as if you've been moving slower lately...you're the pride of the school, for the high school entrance exam. I heard that you're tutoring someone, not of your own level?" That person, of course being Serena, is hiding behind the wall, getting pissed! "I think she's holding you back. If she's a burden on you, tell me, and I'll take care of her!" And Serena fumes in the back. Amy is shocked. "No, what would you do?" "Oh, just get her a tutor. You need to study, after all." Amy says, "That's not necessary. My friend and I are fine...thank you!" She walks out, as Molly comes up to Serena, and makes fun of what a "loser" Serena thinks she is... At the park, Amy sits and sighs to herself, "All I do is study..." when Darien comes up to her. "Hey Amy, you don't seem to be so cheerful today...is something wrong?" "Say," she starts, "what would happen if I wasn't a smart, straight A student?" "What do you mean?" "Never mind," she sighs, "but...it's just that I don't have a real dream!" Darien looks shocked. "I mean, being a doctor was always a PLAN, not a dream...look at Serena. She has so many dreams, and she's so passionate!" "Well, she has a lot in her head, but they may not be DREAMS..." Darien trails off. "I couldn't be a doctor without academics," Amy goes on. But Darien comforts her, "It'd be a shame. I wouldn't mind getting a shot from a pretty, smart doctor like you." "You're afraid of shots? You always seem like a Mr.-tough-guy." "Now you know!" The two laugh together. Amy gets up to leave. "Gonna study?" he asks. "No," she replies, "I want to take a swim first... above, Kaori hovers in the sky. "So, this is the famous brainiac. Well, in order to be smart, you need to be confident, and you also need to have a pure heart!..."... At the fitness center's pool, she seems to be alone. Looking happy in her blue and yellow bathing suit, Amy begins her swim...and she really is a beautiful swimmer, joyiously doing flips and going underwater...when she notices someone coming up - Michelle! "She's so good!" Amy thinks... the two meet up at the edge of the pool. "It's nice to see you!" says Michelle. "You're the one whose previous life was a dolphin?" "What?" says Amy, confused. "Listen," Michelle goes on, "how about a race?" "Uhh...OK." Amara, sitting on a pool chair, shouts "GO!" And the race is on!...the two girls are very fast, graceful...the two reach the end of the pool. "Looks like we tied!" exclaims Amy... they are now out of the pool. "Why did you slow down?" wonders Michelle. "I...I...I'm sorry, really, I didn't mean too!" She runs out the door..."she was only trying to be friends with you," says Amara, now on the diving board. "Gosh, I never meant to hurt her...I just wanted a good race!"... Meanwhile, at Raye's place, the girls are trying to figure out a famous saying ("Hands make easy work", or something), when Amy walks in and tells them what it is! All the girls run up to her. "Amy, can you help me?" the clamors cry. When suddenly, Serena holds out her arms, blocking them from Amy. "LISTEN! Amy SHOULDN'T have to HElP YOU all the time!" The three girls back away, shaded..."this can't be Serena," Lita mumbles. Raye laughs, "Should we take your temperature?" Amy interuppts, "It's fine, ask me anything!" "NO!" cries Serena. "We should leave you alone. You have high school exams AND medical school to study for!" Amy looks shocked. "So now, I can study all day...?" "Yes!" Serena smiles. "Well, Ok..." Amy leaves, but only Serena notices the tear in her eye. Serena makes an excuse and runs after her... At a bridge, Amy looks sadly upon the water. "Even Serena thinks all I can do is study..." when Amara on the motorcycle says "Hi." "Listen," she says, "my cousin asked you for another race. I can give you a ride if you want." "No, I'm fine," Amy says, rather harshly. "Suit yourself!"...Luna walks with Artemis in the sunset. "Hey, wasn't that Amy?" Luna says, noticing Amy walking downtown. "No way, she should be studying with the girls," Artemis replies. "But I'm SURE it was her!"... meanwhile, in the lab, Tomoe makes another daimon egg. He sends it out, manically laughing... "So, you showed up! I hope Amara didn't make you come," says Michelle at the pool, wearing a beautiful black bathing suit. "No, I wanted to come," says a determined Amy. "100 meters then." Amara shouts, "Ready? GO!" And the two start out once more..."She's the fastest swimmer I've ever seen!" thinks Amy. "Why am I swimming this hard? I never have before...maybe I really want to win this? Maybe...I'm afraid to lose? But I won't give up. I can do more things besides academics!"... the two are out of the pool. "It was a tie. Here's a towel," Amara hands one to Michelle. "Thank you," says Amy. "No problem, we should race again!" Amara and Michelle walk out... when suddenly, the daimon egg merges into the pool! Behind Amy, a strange Daimon, with a head covering, "flotation device", and snorkel yells at her! "What did you say?" The daimon takes off the snorkel and says, "You aren't sure about yourself?" "WHAT?" Amy yelps. "Well, I'll take your pure heart and then you won't have to worry!" Taking off her head covering, the black star mark is revealed - and she starts to take away Amy's pure heart! Amy lies against the mirrored wall, her horrible screaming face reflected over both sides... outside, hearing her screams, Serena transforms "MOON COSMIC POWER!" Entering the fitness center, Sailor Moon gives her usual speech, but the daimon (Dovelin) just puts a floatie around Sailor Moon so that she can't move! Kaori appears and commands Dovelin to take the pure heart...and it comes out of Amy. Her eyes can barely open as the tears begin to form. "GIVE THAT BACK! Amy is a dear friend, and she'll be a great doctor! You CAN'T take that away!" screams Sailor Moon, but it's no use... Kaori looks at the crystal. "ANOTHER mistake?" When suddenly, Tuxedo Mask comes, throwing a rose and taking back the heart crystal! Dovelin tries to attack Tuxie, but he uses his cane to thrust the daimon into the pool! "Good thing I have my floatie on," the daimon sighs...when Artemis and Luna scratch it, releasing the air! Mask throws a rose at Moon's, freeing her as well! Now with ample opportunity, Moon strikes - "MOON SPIRAL HEART ATTACK!" The daimon is destroyed!... Moon places the pure heart carefully on Amy's chest, where it is absorbed back into her body. "I'm sorry, Amy, did I upset you before?" "No," says the resurrected soldier, "I was just down before. But now I'm just fine! You helped me to recover!" Moon is puzzled. Amy looks over to Tuxedo mask. "Now I know that I can have passion in my dreams." The two stare at each other..."Remember," cries Moon, "he's MY boyfriend!" "Oh, really?" Amy laughs. "He seems to be more my type, don't you think?" The two girls playfully run around him, chasing each other! Then Amy suddenly stops. "Enough playing, we need to get to studying!" Sailor Moon just sighs... so Amy's pure heart was recovered! But what more could happen to the Soldiers? Whose heart will hold a pure heart crystal?...
