episode 86: bad harmony Serena walks up to Darien's apartment building, holding a bag. "DARIEN! You in there? I have something special for you!" She opens the door, not to find Darien, but to hear beautiful violin music. "Typical of Darien...what's this? Classical Composers?" she picks up a book. Confused, she laughs, "A college book! That explains it!", but suddenly trips, and the contents of her bag, burnt cookies, fall onto the table. "OH NO! All my bunny and heart cookies are ruined!" She is crying when Darien walks in..."What's wrong, fail another test?" he teases. "No, I tried to do this for you, but all my hard work was wasted!" Darien picks up a bunny-shaped cookie, burnt and probably disgusting, and chews it...he is obviously disgusted, but swallows it anyway. "Burnt and hard, just the way I like it!" "Really, you mean it?"... Serena confronts the others at a local park. "..so Darien really liked my cookies!" Raye laughs, "You mean he ATE those charbroiled cement cookies?" Serena nods. "Listen you guys, I want to climb the mountain of higher learn!" she suddenly exclaims. "Amy, you can teach me about classical composers! Lita, about cooking!" Amy questions, "Do you really want to do this?" But Serena just goes on, "Raye, you can teach me about world cultures, right?" Mina suddenly says, "Uh, Artemis, cat-grooming appointment! Gotta go!" Lita agrees, and they rush off! Amy starts, "If you're really serious about this, then we can make a date to -" "Get serious! Serena's not serious about this! Come on, Amy!" Raye says, and the two of them leave Serena there. Luna then says to her, "Serena, you aren't really serious, are you? Do what you're good at - this isn't your nature." Serena begins to brawl, for real this time, and runs off... she approaches an outdoor concert hall (an ampetheater), and whose there but Amara, tossing a lemon to herself, and Michelle, beautifully playing violing on the stage! "I feel a strong energy about this town, something is going to happen. But the enemies are so much faster at finding pure hearts than we are," Amara sighs. "Yes, but we have a task - to find the three pure heart crystals before the heart snatchers do. And they will form the Purity Chalice, which will then be return to its proper place...Until then, we just wait."..."Meatball alert," Amara whispers. "Michelle, you're like a music box preincess holding a guitar!" "That's a VIOLIN, Serena," laughs Amara. She then throws the lemon onto the violin - and Michelle continues to play that beautiful song, juggling the violin at the same time! She stops and catches it. Amara decides to go off on her bike... Michelle has taken Serena to an art gallery. "Do you want to be a violinist?" Serena wonders. Michelle says, somewhat regretfully, "I would love to, but I'm not good enough at it for it to be my destiny." "YOU'RE SO DEEP!" A boy comes up to her and points to a painting of a whale coming out of the sea towards the moon. "Is that your painting?" "Yes," sys Michelle, to Serena's shock. "I just LOVE your work!!"... outside, Serena has picked up Michelle's violin and beings to play it - and the sound is too horrible to bear! People scatter as the screeches are eminated from the violin...Michelle and Amara take Serena to a coffee shop (to stop her from playing, I guess), and Michelle comforts Serena, who's upset about her violing playing. "How's this...I have some extra tickets to the violin concierto tonight. You should come, with your Darien! And maybe then you'll be able to play without people running away!" Serena graciously thanks her, but realizes that she is PERFECt for Darien - "I can't let them meet!"... in the lab, Tomoe makes another heart snatcher (daimon egg, same thing). It flies out of the lab... "...oh, you're so hunky in that tuxedo, even without the mask!" Serena giggles to a handsomely dressed Darien (in a cool white tux). "Are you sure you can sit through the WHOLE concert?" asks Darien to Serena (who is wearing a pretty strapless pink dress). "Of course!" The girls then arrive, and apologise for their abandoning her before. They walk into the concert hall... in a dressing room, the violinist of the evening, gets prepared - as the heart snatcher settles itself into his violin... Michelle and Amara are in box seats, looking down on the crowd. Michelle, with binoculars, spots Serena and the others. "That must be DARIEN," she says, perhaps flirtatiously. "What, I can't look at him?" asks Michelle. Amara, laughing, says that she can...the concert starts, but Serena just looks lovingly towards Darien, and not at the concert - so Raye slaps her in the head! Screaming at each other, everyone tells them to SHUT UP!, and they do (after a while) *sweat drop*... but all of a sudden, the violin glows white - and transforms into a violin-strung daimon! Singing (or should I say yodeling) a horrible, devastating noise, all the people in the audience faint...except for the Sailor Team. The daimon, revealing her black star mark, takes the violinist's heart crystal and takes off! But the familiar cries are heard - "Mercury Star Power!" "Mars Star Power!" "Jupiter Star POWER!" "Venus Star Power!" "MOON COSMIC POWER!"... the Sailor Soldiers give their typical speech, but the daimon of the day just sings her song again - and the whole team is down! Concentrating her energy, the daimon forms a devastating beam of light, headed right for the girls...when a rose breaks it's path! Tuxedo Mask gives a typical sappy speech, and now rejuvinated, Jupiter tries to attack. But the creature dodges her attack, and just taunts the Soldiers to try THAT again!... "NEPTUNE DEEP SUBMERGE!" the watery blast hits the daimon. Standing on two high sculptures outside the concert hall, are Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune! "Who are you?" questions Tuxedo Mask. Uranus answers, "Don't ask us anything. We are after the pure heart crystals and nothing more." Jupiter counters, "Then you are no better than our enemies!"... the daimon starts again, and is about to hit Neptune - when Moon knocks her out of the way! "You...saved my life!" Moon replies sheepishly, "Well, it's my job!" Uranus harshly comments, "No more playing games. URANUS WORLD SHAKING!" Moon finishes off - "Moon Spiral HEART ATTACK!" The daimon is destroyed... The heart crystal was not the one Uranus and Neptune were seeking..."What is a pure heart crystal?" asks Mercury. "HOw is it used?" cries Jupiter. Uranus answers, coldly, "Use your imagination and try to figure it out for yourselves." They return the crystal and leave, remarking that "an artist's heart is fragile, so we'll return it with care"... the girls and Darien walk outside the concert hall. "What a night!" sighs Serena. Raye clutches Darien's arm and says, "You look GREAT tonight! I bet Serena didn't say that!" all the girls but Serena crowd around him as Serena yells at them, "OF COURSE I DID! He's MY boyfriend!"...Above, Amara and Michelle look on, laughing happily... so the day was saved by the Sailor Soldiers...but how seperate are Uranus and Neptune from the other girls? What exactly IS a pure heart cyrstal?...
