episode 84: crystal clear again The underground lab. Professor Tomoe confronts Kaori Night. "Kaori, what's our mission?" "To obtain the purity force with which we can control the world." "And how do we do this?" "By finding the three crystals within the special pure hearts." Tomoe says, "if this be our mission, then we will send this daimon," and he forms another egg. It flies out the chute by Kaori's command... Flying above the city, the daimon egg goes into an apartment building, into a little girl's room. There, it settles down, and merges with a jugsaw puzzle of a cat... Serena tosses and turns in her sleep..."Did you miss a nap or something?" says dream Jupiter. "You don't know how to transform?" says dream Mercury. Dream Mars laughs, "Sailor Moon, you should retire!" In the dream, Moon lunges for Mars...but in the real world, Serena has lunged for Luna, who is now choking!! Luna scratches Serena to get her off. "Luna, I'm scared. I can't transform to fight this new enemy! What am I supposed to do?" Luna tries to comfort her, "Don't worry, it was only a dream. You'll transform, it'll all be OK!" Serena tries to agree. "You should see Darien, maybe he'll have an idea," Luna suggests... ..."So I can't transform and fight!" yells Serena. Darien looks shocked. "That is a true mystery...well, come with me! Come on!" he calls, dragging her along...they reach an abandoned building and go inside the fence. "Why would you want to take me here alone...ooohh, Darien, is it what I think it is?" And she puckers up!... only to be kissed by a cat! "oh it's so CUTE!" she holds it. "All the abandoned cats in the neighborhood are kept here! Come on inside!" The two go in...and a girl with brown hair is feeding them. "So you're the one helping these cats?" asks Serena. "Who...who are you?" she asks, scared. The light shines on Serena, who says, "The champion of justice!" Darien smiles as they walk over to the girl... So you're the one taking care of them, huh? That's so nice," Serena comments. The girl looks sad. "Yeah, but this building's gonna be torn down. They'll have nowhere to go." Serena thinks for a minute..."I'll help you find homes!"... at the shrine, the girls scream at Serena. "I can't take any cats, my mom's allergic," says Mina. "So's mine," adds Lita. "I'm too busy to care for it," says Amy, and Raye points out that the shrine is a bird sanctuary, not good for cats! Serena looks upset. "Well, we have to do SOMEthing!" They decide to go back to the house... "aww, you can't follow me into the house," says the little girl to two of the cats. But they nuzzle her, and she relents...in her room, the cats walk all over her cat jigsaw puzzle. "Ah, now I hope I can finish it!" And she puts in the last piece... but all of a sudden, the completed picture glows white - and the daimon comes out! Wearing cat bells, she says, "I'm Neko-neru! I'm after your pure crystal heart!" The girl quivers and runs back as the cat-daimon lunges at her! Revealing her black star mark above her thigh, Neko-neru shoots a black ray at the girl's heart. The screams pierce the air... outside, the girls hear the screams and run in, only to see the horrible monster! "I've got to try...MOON CRYSTAL POWER!!" But nothing works. The other girls then transform - "The Sailor Scouts are here!" Neko-neru, however, is so powerful that she knocks down all the Scouts at once! Wounded, there seems to be no hope... when a rose cuts across the scene! "How dare you terrorize this place!" cries the forthcoming Tuxedo Mask! But Neko-neru just comes and attacks him. He deflects one attack, but the next one cuts his cape, his mask...and his body. Now that he is hurt, there doesn't seem to be a chance!... when out of the blue, a yellow, earth-shaking blast of energy hits the daimon! And a powerful aqua-colored blast dissolves the monster into nothing, just like with the first daimon. The two silloutted figures pick up the heart crystal... "Is it the one?" "No. They were mistaken. She can keep it," says one of the two, throwing it back to the girls. They turn to leave...when Neko-neru reforms herself! "WAIT!" cries Venus. The two turn around. "Please, the monster is back! We can't defeat it, please help up!" One of the two girls responds coldly, "We don't want to get involved with your battle or your little team. We are after pure hearts and nothing else." The other adds, "So don't ask us to get involved." They walk away as the others sit in shock... now reformed, Neko-neru attacks the Scouts again, and again they are down - and so is Darien. "Serena...run...get out of here!" Darien cries. But Serena, literally crying, digresses. "No, Darien, I have to stay and fight, don't you see that? Please, let me help you!" They hold hands, and the monster begins to attack... when a strong pink light forms around them! And in a flash, the two are back in the Moon Kingdom! An objects falls from the sky into their hands, and Serena turns into the Moon Princess. The object is a scepter of some sort, pink, with a red heart and gold crown adorning it. They gasp at the sight of it. "This was created by our joined powers...the legendary Spiral Moon Heart Scepter..." says Princess Serena...her brooch becomes a heart shaped one, and her crystal a red-heart shaped one... the Moon Kingdom fades. "You can transform now!" cries out Luna. "Ok...MOON COSMIC POWER!" She spins, parts of her outfit being added piece by piece. Posing in front of a huge red heart, she is Sailor Moon once again!... Sailor Moon gives her speech. Holding up her new Scepter, she spins it in her hands with the background of the Moon Kingdom behind her. "MOON..." she spins... "SPIRAL HEART....ATTACK!" She poses, and thousands of tiny hearts come at the monster! A huge heart goes in back of her, destroying her! Neko-neru is killed, shouting "LOVELY!" as her final words... outside the house, the girls still ponder the cats. "I already have owners for them!" shouts Serena. "5 for Raye, 3 for Mina and Amy, and 1 for Lita!" They all sigh and repeat the obvious. "Oh, wait! I can call the animal shelter and it can take them in!" Raye and the others are in shock. "WHY DIDN'T YOU THINK OF THAT EARLIER!!!!"... so the day was saved, and better yet, Sailor Moon can fight again, with a new powerful attack! But who are these two girls? And why won't they help the Scouts?...
