episode 83: star struck, bad luck The world is lit only by a fierce red light. Statues of Tokyo's citizens, as well as the Sailor Scouts, are seen, as a tornado runs through the city. "I feel a strong presence here! What could it be?" Raye cries out. Suddenly, three points, glowing like stars, begin to seperate! And the statues begin to rise up to the sky. "Wait, STOP IT!" Raye screams in horror. But everything is gone. Raye stands in agony... Raye wakes up, Serena snoring in her ear. "Did you have a premonition Raye?" wonders Lita. "Yeah, and it was a SUPER NOISY ONE, TOO!" Raye screams at Serena, who wakes up. "You know what I dreampt about?" Serena says. "I dreampt that I went to the doctor's office, and who was they're but Darien! That really happened," she adds as everyone sighs. Amy starts, "Serena, the high school exams start soon! Studying is important. Are you happy with your last grade?" "I think I got one of them right..." Lita starts, "But the important thing is for you to forget your mistakes and start over. " mina agrees, but Amy contradicts. But all Raye can see is the statues collasping at her feet, her friends being killed one by one... A strange lab, filled with test tubes. A very strange man, perhaps a scientist, pours a red liquid into a test tube. An egg draws in the liquid, and the tube cracks, egg floating in air. The scientist holds the egg above his head with glee..."Come here, Kaori." A red haired (buxom!!) woman comes to him. "Yes, Professor?" "This is the first part of the path to Almightyness. This energy catcher will steal the pure heart of a human." She questions, "A pure heart?" "Yes. You see, in the hearts of three people are objects of power, usually in the form of a charm or amulet. If I obtain these three chosen people's objects, then the power of the world shall be mine!!!!" Manical laughter follows as the egg goes up a chute to the street. Kaori disappears... "AHHHH!!!" Serena only recieves 5 points on the test. Depressed, she walks down the street slowly. "What'll Mom and Dad say...what'll Raye say!!" And just down the street walks Raye, and...CLUNK! They bang heads! "Watch where you're going!!!" Raye shouts... at the water fountain, they get water for their heads. Thinking about her vision, Rei asks, "Serena, what are you gonna do with your life? You'll marry Darien, right?" Serena blushes, "He is my Mr. Wonderful...what about you?" "well, I want to be an actress, a musician...and I want someone to love and be with." she continues, "You have Darien. Don't you think he's embarassed with your bad marks? Though marks aren't everything. Be cheerful, Serena, it's your best quality!" Raye walks away as Serena thinks about how cool Raye is... The egg hovers above the city, searching for its target...it finally lands at Raye's shrine, settling down. A red, gelatinous substance comes out, and the egg merges into the tree! Kaori appears. "Now where is the one with the pure heart?" Raye approaches the shrine... Serena still sobs about her test. "What'll Darien say about this?" Darien comes up behind her. "What a horrible mark..." "AHH!" Serena jumps. "Oh, don't worry Darien, I'll join a study group with Raye!!!" "That's a good idea...I think we should postpone our next date." Serena cries to herself, "We'll never date again!" Rei sits at the sacred flame. "Please, show me the meaning of my dream!" Using hand movements, she does an incantation, then lifts her head. "I feel...nothing!" he walks outside, puzzled. Maybe this puzzle will help, she thinks, grabbing one and praying by the tree... But suddenly, the tree uproots! Glowing a horrible light, it turns into a creature, a daimon! Grinning evilly, it cries, "Heart....attack!!!!" The monster begins to come at her! "I want to change but not here! Grandpa will get hurt!!" So Raye tries to run away...she holds up her transformation pen, but the monster knocks it out of her hands! She pins Raye up to a wall, and her hands turn to stone and come off, holding her! "Who...who are you?" "Makujii, and I'm after your pure heart!" she cries. Kaori appears. "Yes, Makujii, there is much power to be found in a pure heart like hers!..." Makujii opens her shirt to reveal a black star mark...and a ray comes out of it, hitting Raye in the chest! A bloodcurdling scream as the ray pierces into Raye's heart... "I don't want to study," Serena whines, but Luna jumps onto her. "You HAVE to study, we're all counting on you!" But then they hear the scream of Raye, and run off... At the shrine, Serena sees Raye in trouble..."Moon Crystal POWER!" And now transformed, Sailor Moon gives her usual speech to the monster, who just says, "Ahh, another pure heart for the taking!" Wrapping her with her rope-like hair, Makujii pulls Moon down! Makujii leaps onto Sailor Moon, tying her down, biting her brooch...and she de-transforms!...The others get there, and they are too trapped, just like Raye! All seems lost... until a rose goes into Makujii's hair! "How dare you do this to us!" shouts the appearing Tuxedo Mask! But Makujii just traps him as well! "Ahh, now I can extract that pure heart!" The black star is revealed again. Finally, a shining object is seen in front of Rei, who lay lifeless... an object shaped like a red, four-pointd star. "This is a pure heart, just what we need!" Serena cries out, "NO! RAYE! PLEASE COME BACK TO US! RAYE!!!!"... but suddenly, a yellow ball of energy hits Makujii. With the force of an earthquake it tears her apart. A second ball, aqua-colored, throws the force of a submerging wave upon her. The daimon is destroyed! The heart crystal flies up into the trees as the girls all rush over to Raye... two sailor-suited girls sit in the tree with the crystal. "This doesn't appear to have a talisman." The other replies, "True. They were mistaken!" and she throws it back down to the ground...and miraculously, it dissolves back into Raye, who wakes up to Serena's bawling! The two mysterious soldiers jump off... in the lab with the test tubes, the scientist says, "Kaori Night. You have failed me. That was not the pure heart I was searching for." She responds, "Professor Tomoe, I am sorry. But there was unexpected interference. I'll beat them next time..." The girls stand with Darien and the cats. "This is a strong enemy," says Amy. "Yes, and who were those two? Mysterious," Luna comments. Serena sighs. "Goodbye old life, hello new enemy..." so the day was saved, but by who? Who are those two girls? What is "Almightyness?"...
