episode 103: destiny's arrival Note: this episode is dramatic, subdued, and very sad. It may not be appropriate for very young viewers... A rainy afternoon. Michelle sits at her and Amara's pool, a seashell to her ear. In her mind, the soft billow of the sea, the gentle wind of seagulls flying..."It's not fair, Michelle. You go into your own world." Amara stands over her. "I had a dream this morning," says Michelle. "I haven't been able to shake it all day..." "I know," says Amara. "You already know?" "Yes. This is destiny's arrival. Today, a pure heart crystal will appear." At Witches 5, Eudial gets to work. She attaches wires to an old floppy disk and starts up a program. "This should surely find the owners of the pure heart crystals! 'Please wait a moment'," she reads off the screen...*flashback* The Witches 5 locker room. Eudial puts on her slippers - only to find that someone put a pin inside them! "Who would do something so stupid?" She goes to open her locker, when she notices something inside - hundreds of snails! A note is taped to the inside: "'The woman who usually changes the snails will have an accident!' Who would write this...?" In the corner of the room, we see a short, orange-haired figure speaking to three other sillouettes. "Eudial failed again, did you hear?" says the orange-haired. "She wasted another one of Dr. Tomoe's daimon eggs," another remarks. "She should retire, I wonder who'll become the next supervisor?" wonders another. The orange-haired smiles. "Well, don't get your hopes up, since he called me!" "Oh, man," says one, "why would he call Mimete before me?" Eudial stands in the shadows...*end of flashback* Eudial sits at the computer. "I'll show her. I bet she's the one who put the snails in my locker! She's a hypocrite..." The screen stops, but we can't see the results. "THESE TWO have the pure heart crystals???"... Amara sits on the windowsill, watching the rain, when the answering maching goes off. "Hello, this is Amara Ten'ou's place, right? I got the right place! Well, this is Eudial. I know that you've been searching for the pure heart crystals too. I know who holds them! -" The machine cuts off. The fax goes off again, and Eudial yells, "HEY! This machine cut me off! No bother...as we're after the same thing, why don't you join me? I won't tell my boss. Meet me at this place. See ya!" The fax prints out a map. Michelle gets out of the pool, with the sadest face imaginable... Amara looks at her hands in sadness. She thinks, "I know my hands have been soiled by this mission...so I can do whatever it takes to complete it..." michelle comes over to her and holds her hand *slo-mo* their hands embrace. "Don't worry, Amara," she says, "I think your hands are clean." The shocked Amara can only gasp...Amy mopes in the library. Overlay of Amy - "What are the pure heart crystals?" Neptune - "We are after the pure heart crystals."...Lita, walking sadly in the rain - "You'll use any method?" Uranus - "We have no choice."...Raye, at the shrine, staring at the rain - "Can't we work together?" Neptune - "No. We can't understand each other."...Mina, at the arcade - "But we're all Sailor Scouts!" Uranus - "We are in different worlds."...and finally, Serena, lying in bed, almost crying. Neptune - "We will make any sacrifices necessary to complete our mission."... "Hey, Serena!" Sammy says. "Some girl named 'Amara' wants to see you!"...downtown, Darien and Rini walk, concerned. "I'm very worried," says Darien, "as Amara and Michelle are Uranus and Neptune, right?" Rini consoles him, "I don't think that those two...are bad." A woman with long green hair walks down the street. Rini turns and looks. "Is anything wrong, Rini?"...Serena takes an elevator up to a 50th floor aquarium! Amara and Michelle wait for her. "Wow, I never knew that there was an aquarium up here! Can I take the others next time?" Amara and Michelle just silenetly look at the fish. "Can I?" Amara says softly, "We never want you to interfere with us again - Sailor Moon." "But we're both Scouts! We both want to help!" Amara just walks over to her. "I'll take this for a while." She rips off Serena's transformation brooch, after a struggle! She knocks Serena to the ground. "WAIT! Don't take any more pure hearts!" "Knock it off!" Amara and Michelle stand before her, dead serious. "If you appear before us again...you'll regret it." Serena stares, gasping. "URANUS PLANET POWER!" "NEPTUNE PLANET POWER!" "We're after the three pure heart crystals," says Neptune. Uranus goes on, "The Silence is approaching and only the Embassador of Good can stop it." "Embassador of Good...?" Moon repeats. "It's not your concern," says Uranus. Uranus and Neptune walk off into the sunset, towards Amara's helicopter, and fly off, with Serena only able to stare up at them, helpless... The green-haired woman walks over to the saddened Serena. "Do you want to save them? They are ordered to fight by a mission, but you can still help." "Who are you?" wonders Serena. We see the woman, with long green hair and a bun, wearing a purple outfit. "I am Trista Meiou...an old friend. Will you save them? But you can't transform, and you may be in more danger!" Serena is focused. "Please. Tell me where they are."... The helicopter approaches a beautiful building on the sea. "This is a new cathedral, the Marine Cathedral," says Uranus. After landing the copter, the two stand, looking up at the church. "Uranus...you know that if one of us is gone, the other must fulfill the mission without the other." They hold hands and let go. "I know, Neptune." The door mysteriously opens for them...inside, red doors with embossed cupird line the long, dark hallway. Neptune stops short. "Neptune, what's wrong?" "I think I heard something..." Uranus realizes, "They lead us into a trap."...inside a secret room, Eudial sits in front of a fooseball table. "Of COURSE this is a trap!" She begins to line up the pieces - and the doors line up in front of the girls! "This game," starts Eudial, "will...BEGIN!" She shoots the fooseball pieces out in the game...and the doors are shot out at Uranus and Neptune! On all sides they come, and the two gracefully dodge them. "WORLD SHAKING!" The blast knocks through a great deal of doors. "DEEP SUBMERGE!" The watery sphere destroys the rest of them... but another door forms! It heads towards the two..."URANUS!" cries Neptune, and she is hit by the door! She lay helpess against it as it vanishes into another room. "NEPTUNE!!!!!!" Uranus cries out...in the cathedral's main room, a huge organ is being played, ominous music being heard. The voice of Eudial - "You fool. I now have a pure heart crystal holder in my hands!" "What do you mean?" asks Uranus increduously. "Let me say something...your cousin, Sailor Neptune, has a pure heart crystal!" Uranus stands in shock. "It can't be..." "Go straight if you want to find her!" Uranus blindly runs towards her goal, unbelieving of Neptune's fate... Uranus has reached the main room, where she sees a figure being held onto one of the doors, knocked out - "NEPTUNE!!" She runs towards her, entering a hallway full of those doors...but the doors have holes in them, and she is shot down hundreds of times! Now exhausted, she tries to catch her breath. "Don't you know that if anyone but me passes through this hallway, they'll be killed?" laughs Eudial. "Besides," she goes on," there's another pure heart crystal I need to obtain." "What do you mean?" "Your heart! The reason why you got your hands dirty, why you tried to protect this world...it's your heart!" Uranus laughs, "The holders are supposed to be pure. So I can't have a pure heart crystal." Eudial laughs, "We'll see. But I'll be the only one to know - cause you'll be too wounded to survive!!".. Neptune, seeing her partner's situation, breaks free of the door! "Uranus!" She runs through the hallway, but is shot down, just like Uranus was. "NEPTUNE, DON'T!" But Neptune keeps going...she keeps on getting shot down as their symbolic rose falls to the ground...but finally, the doors are out of ammunition! Neptune gets closer to Eudial, and in fright, the witch holds the gun to Neptune's heart... and extracts her pure heart crystal. Neptune's pure heart forms a bejewed mirror with the sign on Neptune as the warrior falls, dead... Uranus looks up to a stained glass window. "They were sealed into us? I can't believe it..." "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE!" a voice calls. Uranus looks over...and thinks that she sees a beautiful nude, winged figure. "Can it be...?" But we see that it is only Serena. "YOU again?" says an agitated Eudial. Serena runs over to her - and pushes her into a pit! Eudial gets her balance, and jumps onto something...but that something is a pendulum, and she falls into the black. All we hear is her scream... Serena races to Neptune's side. "Please, pure heart crystal, go back into Neptune's body!" Uranus, hair covering her eyes, just says, "Don't. This was our mission, so let it be." She throws Serena's brooch back to her, saying that 'it's been enough trouble for us'. taking Eudial's gun, Uranus remarks, "Now, it's time to finish my mission. Please find the third pure heart crystal for me..." Serena tries to grab back the gun, and she cries, "We don't NEED the pure heart crystals to save this world!" Uranus stops. "I'll save it, somehow," Serena continues. Uranus, for once in her life, smiles. "You know...even though it's impossible, you can believe it when you say that..." She pushes Serena away and picks up the gun, puts it to her heart... and shoots herself with it. A bejeweled saber comes out as Uranus falls to the ground. The other Sailor Scouts arrive, but a moment too late. Serena cries over the deaths of Uranus and Neptune, only able to muster out, "It's horrible..." The green-haired woman Trista stands at the forefront. "I have to do something..." but what can be done? Uranus and Neptune are going to die. The sacrifice has been made... to be continued
