Nemesis, lazy as she is, just wasn't in the mood to review this DVD. But someone else was! Big thank you to Joeseph Breen for this mini-review!!! -Content- This disc contains the final 7 episodes of Sailormoon S, and they are the best in my opinion. The covers are okay, but could have been better. In the Sailorsaturn cover, Pioneer cut out mistress 9's shadow which was in the LD cover that the DVDs was based on. The reverse cover is FAR too green, it has little or no other colors, but dispite the problems, they are still okay. The story of the disc: Mimet is dead, and now the last of the Witches 5, Telulu, Byruit, Cyprin & Petirol, each try to gather as many pure hearts as they can for the messiah's awakening, and try to kill the Sailor Soldiers while they are at it! Even though the Witches 5 is defeated, Chibiusa's heart is taken, and the messiah of silence is not revealed as Saturn like the Soldiers thought, but Mistress 9, the evil person residing in Hotaru's body. Now the soldiers have to try and stop her from allowing the Death Busters leader, Pharaoh 90, to merge with the planet. This is the sailor's toughest battle, but can they save both Chibiusa and Hotaru? Will the final Soldier be revealed? -Technical Review- Picture: The best picture quality so far! Colors are presented well, even though the tape is quite old. yay!^^ Sound: No different from usual, Japanese mono, English stereo. Oddly though, in the Final 3 eps, the japanese audio's music and sound effects are in beautiful STEREO!!!! Dare I even say Surround sound?! The voices are not though... OH WELL!!!! At least it's a start. Menu: The menu's are about venus this time. Not the best, but it's all right *tries not to bring love of Venus-chan into review* :*( They're all just poses during her transformation. Translation: Great as usual, except for the Cloverway dub *Gag-choke* -Extras- Sailor Gallery: Sailorvenus: Has info about Venus. They even listed the year she was born(so venus is really 24!? Looks so young...) Pictures aren't that good though. Also, unfortunately there are no next episode previews like everyone thought there would be. Guess those are lost forever... Also DVD credits as usual -Mistakes, etc.- 1 mistake on the pakaging, they reused the THREAT OF DARKNESS thing on the back (it was on vol.5 as well). The rest are just weird. On the end credits they write names out differently than the subtitles, like on subtitles It's Kaorinite and Daimohn, But on end credits its Kaorinight and Dimohn. Also, isn't it annoying that you can easily see the names are pronounced differently than they are written? Viluy, obviously pronounced Bee-lu-ee, its written out Byruit. Another example? Even though its clearly pronounced Pechirol, Its written as Petirol. I guess they are correct romanizations, and they really don't happen that often, But still... -General - Despite the problems, these are the best eps of Sailormoon S, and there are essentialy no filler episodes. B+, since the probs could easily have been fixed. But you don't want to miss the Sailor Soldiers Greatest Battle ever, do you? Looking forward to SuperS. La la la la la! (go back home) |
