Chapter IV: Confronting the Enemy of Darkness

After that horrible loss, Onyx returned to school, the first day of the rest of her evil life. The reincarnated Black Daughter looked back on a particular conversation she had with Queen Beryl on her first day of return-

--- Remember your past child. You see the necklace with the onyx?

Of course! That is what gave me the visions I told you about to begin with!

--- Yes. Well, back in the days when the Negaverse was in its glory, I gave you that necklace, as a token of appreciation. Can you see?

Yes, yes, I can see it all now. Well, I am the Black Daughter, I can feel my power coursing through my veins once more. Now, what would you like me to do, oh Majesty?

--- Hmm..

And, as mentioned before, she had decided to make this Black Daughter into a top-class spy for the Negaverse. As spy, Onyx would try to discover ways to accumulate peak amounts of energy. Cleverly, Beryl had also figured out something else: Sailor Moon was from Tokyo and indeed was a teenager. Maybe she went to Crossroads Junior High!

--- Do you understand, child?

Yes. I hear and obey.

And so the conversation ended, the Black Daughter knowing how important her task was to the NegaForce’s survival. Returning to Earth, she became Onyx once more, though an entirely different Onyx indeed. She walked to school, not nervous as she had been before, but proud, vengeful, evil in every aspect. She didn’t need a job anymore, didn’t need a home; information was her currency, the Negaverse was her home, her family...

When she arrived at school, all of the girls were talking to Molly and Serena about this new Sailor Moon. Onyx asked, innocently, "Hey guys, what’cha talking about?"

Molly was first to answer. "Oh, hi Onyx. Glad you’re here. Anyway, to answer what you asked, it seems that everyone who had been in my mom’s jewelry store after school yesterday had a dream that a monster was attacking. And then this beautiful warrior, Sailor Moon, saved us. All of us!"

"Yeah, you said it Molly, she was awesome," chanted the other girls.

Meanwhile, Serena yawned so loud that people could’ve heard her all the way in America. "Hey, keep it down! I was out late last night, and I need some - yawn! - sleep!"

Interesting, Onyx thought. Wait, what am I thinking? There’s no way a klutzoid like Serena could be Sailor Moon. Although, her power from before seems to be depleted...no, no way!

Onyx turned towards Molly, the victim of the first Negaverse attack. "So, Molly, do you know anything about her? Sailor Moon?"

Molly laughed. "Know anything? Yeah right!"

"Oh, come on Molly!" Onyx sail pleadingly.

She sighed. "Oh, all right. Well, she was beautiful, like a princess. She had gorgeous eyes, and wore this suit with a big bow and a stunning locket in the middle. She was sorta klutzy, but with this tiara of hers, she whipped the monster for good!"

"Wow..." chanted the other girls.

"Hey, thanks," said Onyx.

The day wore on, Onyx bursting with information until, finally, the bell for dismissal rang. Oh thank god! I gotta go home! She walked towards a barren corner of the city, made sure no one was watching, and then said, "Nemesis Black Hole Transport!" A black hole enclosed around her, and all of a sudden, she was gone...

Queen Beryl, I am here!

--- Ah, my Black Daughter. I like the use of the word "nemesis" when using your black powers.

Well, I figured, I am the 'nemesis' of that brat Sailor Moon and all humans. I figured that it fit. Anyway, I have some information for you.

She told Beryl about how the NegaMonster was destroyed, and how all of the teenagers idolize her -

--- Well, maybe we can use this to our advantage.

How so, my Queen?

We can gain the pathetic human’s adoration energy and use it to replenish the NegaForce. Send out a droid at once, Jedite!

The general Jedite appeared. === At once, my Queen. He vanished.

--- You may go now, child. And as the Black Daughter used her powers to leave, Beryl’s evil laugh filled the evil-laden air...

The next day, a strange figure was lurking around school, with Onyx watching from the outside. Once spotted, it appeared out of the darkness:

It was a young girl. "You all adore Sailor Moon, right?"

"Yes, of course!"

"Well, you’ll pay for that!" and as this was spoken, the girl transformed into a horrible monster, which immediately began to suck everyone’s energy clean dry.

Onyx turned away, laughing. "Those humans will pay..."

However, when she turned back, who did she see but --

"Sailor Moon! Thank goodness..." Molly whispered with all the strength she had left.

"Oh, no. How dare she come? Why did I turn away!!" the Black Daughter sneered to herself.

Sailor Moon appeared unsteady, but with her tiara, and help from the strange man, Tuxedo Mask, the monster was defeated, and all of the energy was returned. Frustrated, Onyx returned to her home in the Negaverse...

--- Black Daughter! That loss has cost us dearly! I hope that you have at least discovered who she is!

Umm...I am sorry, your Majesty, but I couldn’t discover her identity.

--- You louse! You may be powerful, but your power can’t protect you from me!

I...I am so sorry Queen -

--- No matter. Another droid will be sent out. Jedite!

=== Yes?

--- Send out another monster!

=== Yes, my Queen.

This routine went on for a few days, and as before, the powerful Sailor Moon defeated the monsters, one at a time. However, the Black Daughter realized something.

Queen Beryl!

--- Yes, what is it!? I’ve almost had enough of you!

Well, this 'Sailor Moon' seems to gain her confidence from those around her. She is a coward if no one believes in her!

--- I see, child. The Negaverse will prevail! I will send out a droid that will dishearten everyone around her about Sailor Moon. She will be weak and we will triumph.

An excellent plan.

The next day...

At school, Onyx was simply bursting with pride in her Queen. Serena noticed and questioned. "Onyx, what’s the big deal?"

Onyx smiled. "Oh, nothing, just that, umm, one of my best friends just discovered a, well, a way to succeed in her life’s plans."

"That’s great! Who is she?"

"Well, you wouldn’t know her. She’s... she’s not from around here." Onyx said, turning away. Those pathetic humans. They shall pay for their treachery.

School came and went, and it came to be that in three minutes, everyone would leave for their homes. Onyx snuck out and hid in the bushes outside the school, knowing what the future would bring. Inside, all of the students were chatting, just praying for the clock to hit 3:00, wanting to leave. They never will...

All of a sudden, in a flash, who came down from the sky but a NegaMonster, ugly and menacing. Some people tried to escape, and ultimately, a few did, but the Black Daughter couldn’t see who, as the monster covered the classroom with an overpowering fog. As the fog lifted, one could see Sailor Moon standing in one of her stupid poses, saying: "I am Sailor Moon, champion of justice. And on behalf of the moon, I will destroy you! Everyone is counting on me!"

Out of nowhere, a classmate stood up, eyes glowing a bright red. "No we’re not."

More started to rise. "We don’t need you! You’re just a pretty suited soldier. What do we need a wimp like you for?"

"You guys can’t mean that! Waaahhh --" cried Sailor Moon.

The monster laughed a menacing laugh. "No one supports you, Sailor Moon. And now, I will punish you!"

Finally, we can get rid of this twerp. Wait, hold on, what is this? I feel another tremendous energy force approaching, not as much as Sailor Moon’s but still formidable. Who could that be?

Suddenly, a voice screamed out, "Mercury Bubbles Blast!" covering the room in a mist, providing cover for Sailor Moon.

Who is this! How dare she interrupt the plans of the Negaverse!

As the mist cleared, a figure spoke. "You have hurt my friend, and now you shall pay! You think that Sailor Moon is the only scout around -"

At this point, the fog completely disappeared, and one could make out a girl...in a Sailor outfit! "Well, there’s another girl in town! I am...Sailor Mercury!"

Oh no! another scout...the Queen will not approve of this!...

"And on behalf of Mercury, we shall whip you into shape!"

The monster laughed, "How can you defeat a great NegaMonster such as myself? Hah!"

But Mercury knew what to do. "Wait until the fog lifts, Sailor Moon, then you know what to do. Mercury Bubbles Blast!"

And as the mist of Mercury rose, Sailor Moon suddenly exclaimed, "Moon Tiara Magic!" - the monster was destroyed, as the scouts had promised earlier.

The students all began to wake up from their negative state. "Wha...what happened?"

Mercury smiled. "Well, I guess our job is done here."

Moon laughed. "Come on. Let’s go!" and they jumped out of sight, leaving the Black Daughter alone in her anger.

How dare they!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why I’ll -

Ye - Yes, Queen Beryl?

--- Your idea didn’t work.

Well, I never thought that there could be another Sailor Scout. But now that we know who we’re up against, we can finish both of them!

--- I hope so - for your sake. We have confronted the enemies of darkness, the Sailor Scouts, and for the NegaForce’s sake, light must not prevail!
