Chapter V: Increasing Enemies and Exile to a Greater Evil

As one could probably tell, the Negaverse was extremely displeased. However, Beryl came up with a new tactic ---

--- Long ago, the NegaForce possessed a great, all-mighty shadow warrior. That horrible Queen Serenity, unfortunately, divided the warrior into seven pieces, each locked in a rainbow crystal and sent to Earth. Each piece is in a living being on the corrupted planet. Black Daughter, you can sense power, you will find these carriers and tell me their identities. Understood?

Yes, Majesty. It shall be done.

And so, the Black Daughter was sent back down to Earth, becoming Onyx one more, but an Onyx with a new purpose, one that would start to prove effective. For on that same day, the evil-child sensed a rainbow crystal in a man known as Game-Machine Joe for his excellence at playing video games in the OSAP arcade. A general (I believe it was Jedite, though Onyx wasn’t too sure on this) then came down, and reincarnated the monster from within this petty human, taking the crystal in the process.

As usual, the Sailor Scouts showed up, perky and prompt. "I am Sailor Moon!" "And I am Sailor Mercury!" "And on behalf of the Moon and Mercury, we will restore this man to his rightful self!"

The general soon vanished, and the girls were left alone with the monster. With both Moon’s and Mercury’s respective powers, the monster was defeated, and Joe returned to his normal self.

However, Mercury looked concerned. "Why would they turn a human into a monster? What are they after, anyway?"

Onyx returned to Queen Beryl, becoming her evil alter-ego once more. Are you pleased, my Queen?

--- Yes, child. We have one of the crystals, and the Scouts don’t even realize that we are after them!

I will return to Earth and try sense more of them.

The next day...

Onyx sensed a crystal at that temple she had first visited when she arrived on Earth. Discovering it, she called for a general, who immediately grabbed the crystal, transforming the man who had been carrying it, an old man who was very short and active, into a very powerful monster. Little did the evil minions know that the man’s granddaughter, a Shinto priestess, was watching in the distance, getting more furious by the second...

Of course, the Scouts arrived, giving their usual speech, but the monster was not amused. "You think you can defeat me! Hah! You’re dreaming!"

This began to prove true as the monster was too powerful for both Mercury and Moon, and all looked bleak for the heroines. Until, however, a cry came from the distance: "I call upon the power of Mars, fireballs, CHARGE!!", and a piece of paper with an incantation written upon it was flung onto the monster, rendering him helpless.

"Listen to me! I am Sailor Mars, Scout of fire! That man is...was...someone dear to me. I am tough and strong, and together, we Scouts will free you. I am...Sailor Mars!"

And in a flash, she spoke: "Mars Fire Ignite!", which flung fire at her target, weakening him. After this, it was a synch for Sailor Moon to destroy the monster, healing him with her tiara. This left the man laying on the floor, unconscious.

"That man is my grandfather. I would do anything to save him!"

Moon and Mercury smiled. "Thank you Sailor Mars!"

Tuxedo Mask soon arrived. "Great job, girls! You really got that monster." Although he seemed a little edgy when he said that...

I don’t believe it. Another Sailor Scout! How can this be. Well, at least we got another crystal...

--- You are lucky, Black Daughter.

Queen Beryl.

--- Yes. And we will get the others. However, I feel that Tuxedo Mask also wants a hand in getting the crystals.

You can’t be serious!

--- NEVER say that! I have a feeling, and they are usually right! I am also worried about this new Scout. She seems to be very powerful.

We’ll get her, don’t you worry!

--- You’d better be right. And as Onyx returned to Earth, she thought about what the Queen had said about Tuxedo Mask. Oh no! We really don’t need this...

And sure enough, time after time, the three Sailor Scouts defeated the Negamonsters, using their respective powers to vanquish any evil. As the number of battles increased, the stronger the scouts became, especially Sailor Moon, who was gaining much needed confidence. However, as well as the scouts defeated each enemy, they did not take any of the coveted rainbow crystals. After six of the monsters were awakened, the Negaverse as well as Tuxedo Mask each had three, respectively.

But the true battle had not yet begun...

The next day... Onyx arrived at school that morning, bitter and discontent about herself, thinking, How could I be so dumb? The Queen’s gonna fry me if we don’t get all of those crystals, and I don’t even know where to begin! And the third scout is very powerful! I hope there aren’t any more!... And as soon as she thought that, she noticed that Serena was (loudly) pointing out this girl who was sitting under an oak tree, looked crossed. Overhearing the babbling brook known as Serena, Onyx found out that she was a transfer from another school, a girl Lita, who was thrown out of her old school for fighting. She looked at this Lita, puzzled, thinking about how familiar she looked. Wait! This is Lita! The girl I bumped into that first day! I sensed so much power in her...and now I sense even more!

But as these thoughts coursed through her head, Serena suddenly walked over to the girl and introduced herself. They started talking, and Onyx thought how familiar the scene seemed. Backing into a far corner of the lawns of Junior High, she placed the onyx necklace over her neck, transforming herself into the Black Daughter once more. Willing herself, she received more images from the locket...

A girl...tall...brown hair in a ponytail...a fierce fighter...a sailor warrior...Jupiter...Lita...are one... The images dissipated.

I knew it! Lita is Sailor Jupiter! But does she know it yet?

And Onyx decided to set a trap...

Queen Beryl! I have great news!

--- This had better be good, Black Daughter. I am growing impatient!

It is! I have discovered who I believe the Sailor warrior Jupiter will be! She is a new student at my school. And I have an idea...

--- YES?

Well, we could corner her with a crystal carrier, and then set him loose on her. Then we’ll see if Lita is Sailor Jupiter or not; if we see her transform, she is the Sailor Scout.

--- Yes, proceed. I will call one of my generals to do the job. But I’m warning you. If this Lita is not who you think she it, you’ll be indefinitely sorry.

Yes, my Queen. And she left the Negaverse as the sun arose to a new school day on Earth...

Transforming herself back into her alter-ego Onyx, she cackled. I know I’m right! I must be. And so, that day, the plan was launched --

and it worked beautifully. With an ingenious plot fabricated by the evil Queen herself, Lita was cornered, alone, with the rainbow crystal carrier. The girl, unsuspecting, was not concerned. However, a Negaverse general appeared, taking out the crystal, and the carrier then transformed into a hideous monster. She tried her best to fight, but her kicks and punches had no effect on the beast, and as the general stood, crystal in hand laughing at the girl’s futile efforts, out of the shadows appeared...

"Sailor Mars!"

"Sailor Mercury!"

"And don’t forget Sailor Moon!" and jumping down, they surrounded the battle scene.

Mercury cried, "Lita, run! Luna, go with her!" and as the two started to rush away, a strange sign resembling a "4" appeared on Lita’s forehead. Lita, bewildered, ran away from the fight with the guardian cat.

"I am Sailor Moon, the champion of justice! And on behalf of the Moon--"

"And Mercury!" the scout added.

"And of course Mars!" the sailor cried.

All together- "We shall punish you!"

Mercury turned towards the Negaverse general, talking to him, distracting him long enough to grab the crystal out of his hand.

"The - the crystal! Droid Vanishier, destroy them! Now!"

The monster laughed. "Fine. Now, you pathetic humans think you can defeat me! You’ll soon see that you are mistaken ---" and the beast disappeared.

Mars tried to use her "Mars Fire Ignite!", but she could not detect where the monster was. Suddenly, two fists clamped down upon her head, and Mars fell in a heap. The remaining scouts heard loud laughter, then nothing. It then came up behind Mercury and knocked her out cold, for the moment. Moon was scared and hid in a corner. All seemed lost. But suddenly, from out of nowhere...

"You unhand them! Yeah, you heard me! I am Sailor Jupiter, scout of thunder, vanquisher of evil like you! On behalf of my friends, take this - Jupiter Thunder Crash!"

And the huge crash of thunder struck her target, electrifying it, and Jupiter shouted, "Sailor Moon, finish her off!"

"All right! Moon Tiara Magic!" and it was so. The scouts disappeared, with a new ally, and a new crystal.

The Black Daughter looked on in the distance, terrified. Oh no! The Queen’s gonna kill me, or torture me, or -

--- You got that right.

Queen Beryl! Umm...what a pleasant surprise! What brings you to this part of Tokyo! Hee..hee..umm, wha...what are you going to do to me?

--- Let’s review, shall we?

Oh, we don’t have to do that...

--- YES WE DO. The Scouts now have one of the crystals. Tuxedo Mask still has three. We now have Sailor Jupiter to contend with, and we aren’t even sure if the girl Lita is the new Scout!!!!!

What...what are you going to do?

--- I, the Queen of all evil, banish you from the Negaverse! I should have never let you come back to us! Your power over negative energy may be awesome, but it is not worth the repeated failures! Now, be gone!

Yes...

And the Black Daughter disappeared from the Negaverse, returning to the abandoned house in the outskirts of Tokyo she once called home. She had been abandoned from the only family she knew, or thought she knew, and was now left alone with her power, to suffer.Well, if I have to suffer, the Scouts must, too. I will defeat them! I will defeat any new ones that come along! I WILL get the crystals for myself, in the name of the lonely soldier! I WILL BECOME AN EVIL SCOUT, to defeat Beryl and the Sailors...I am...SAILOR NEMESIS, enemy of all who oppress me! AND I WILL HAVE MY SWEET REVENGE!...

But, as Nemesis would soon discover, revenge, true vengeance, is only bittersweet...
