About Jamie
Jamie/alaria/nemesis (you'll see all of those names scattered about) is a 23-year old professional web designer living in Northwestern NJ. I am also a composer by study and a writer by hobby. I studied Composition at Rutgers, along with East Asian Studies (focusing on Japanese). In my spare time, I was in a number of choirs, did layout design, and interned at the Japan Society.
SillinessI'm a big dork. I watch 90's cartoons, scifi, and MST3K/RiffTrax. I met my boyfriend through bad movies and choir (5 years and strong!) and generally prefer a night of games to an evening out. I love nature, taking walks, and seeing concerts when I get the chance. I also like to read. I'm a sucker for chocolate, big hugs, and really really shiny things.
About OBR
Oneblackrose.org was created in 2002 or so, made to house all of my various/many websites. I originally had a bunch of anime-related sites; one of them still exists. As time went on, I grew out of otaku-dom and into more personal matters - my blog, which has changed titles many times (from "The Messenger" to "At the End of the Tour"). I also maintained a design site.
Now, I want to at least attempt to focus - one site, one layout, clean code that reflects where I am right now. I want to produce. I want to write, and most importantly, I want to compose. I am a composer and I'd like to act like one.
So welcome to the birth of my newest site, one of about five million I've had: Oneblackrose.org, "life in expression". I think the slogan works pretty well - music, art, design.
This site very new, besides being dynamic (thanks Blogger), I am attempting to do something very hard - "Song-a-week". That is, I write a song every week and post about it. Or, I at least work on a piece enough to show you something. Subscribe to the Podcast and wish me luck!
